Story Week!!
For our lessons during story week we decided to do things a little differently. We worked on different components of a story so that everyone can start to understand stories and books they will see on all of our e-resources (One More Story, RAZ Kids, and Sesame Street Books). We worked with character recognition (seeing if everyone can read a story and then later recognize who is in the story and who is not) and sequencing (see if everyone can remember the order of events in a story using key words). Here are some pictures from the activities!

Tired/Sleepy!
Hello Parents!
We have added a new emotion to our vocabulary! Tired or Sleepy! While there is a subtle distinction in English, for now we will learn about tired and sleepy through similar gestures and expressions. We learned about tired and sleepy using acting scenes, different crafts, and coloring together. Here are just a few pictures from the lesson :)

Portraits
Hello Parents!
This lesson we worked on parts of the face and describing each other. The children we paired up into groups of two and asked to draw each other. They turned out wonderful!! Everyone did great work and created some very unique and interesting pieces of art. I have kept these portraits and will put them on display later in the year:)

A New Year Begins!!
Welcome Parents!
These past two weeks have been very busy! After some initial
adjustment (and readjustment) to the school life, we jumped right into
our lessons! We have started our English books, My Little Island. A
great way to get the most out of this book is to play the CD that
accompanies the book as often as you can out of school (on the ride to
and from school for example). We have also been working on our fine
motor skills! Everyone is at different levels but practice makes
perfect!
Some of the topics we have covered: Introduction to some basic
emotions, classroom objects, colors, shapes, greetings.
Check out our videos page for some fun English songs for everyone to
listen to and have fun with at home!
Until next time!
